Instead of cash, the Kardashian sisters received a box filled with Madonna’s vibrant neon bracelets as a reward. Reflecting on the memorable moment, Kim recalled, “One day, I went down to walk Madonna’s dog, and she handed us a shoebox filled with neon rubber bracelets. She said, ‘Here girls, I’m so over this phase.’ We wore them to school, and everyone was asking, ‘Where did you get that?’ We proudly said, ‘Madonna gave it to us!'”
The documentary, premiering Friday, offers a star-studded exploration of the fashion industry in the ’90s, featuring interviews with notable figures such as Edward Enninful, Anna Wintour, Naomi Campbell, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Sarah Jessica Parker. Designer Stella McCartney also discusses the benefits of being Paul McCartney’s daughter.
In a different segment, Kim recounted her brief encounter with Madonna while trick-or-treating. Although she never visited Madonna’s house for treats, they crossed paths while dressed in costumes, leading to a moment of recognition.
The documentary also highlights Kate Moss, who spoke about the backlash she faced for her “heroin chic” look in the ’90s. The supermodel, now 50, described the harsh criticism from parents of anorexic girls, stating, “People would come up to me and say, ‘My daughter’s anorexic.’ It was awful.” Moss noted that her slender figure drew scrutiny simply because it differed from the fuller body types of models before her, especially after her iconic lingerie shoot for Vogue in June 1993.
