Selena Gomez clutches hands with her BFF Taylor Swift on a night out in NYC

The 31-year-old actress was seen holding hands with her best friend, Taylor Swift, during a star-studded girls’ night out in New York City on Saturday evening.

The Only Murders in the Building star—who threatened to delete her Instagram account after facing criticism for her silence on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict—looked cozy yet chic in a tan turtleneck sweater dress from FRAME.

She accentuated her waist with a gold leather belt on the long, knitted dress, which featured balloon sleeves.

Selena styled her raven black hair into a sleek bun to highlight a pair of chunky gold hoop earrings.

Underneath the maxi dress, she wore opaque tights and pointed-toe slingback kitten heels.

She carried a black leather bucket bag with gold hardware that perfectly matched the details of her outfit.

For her makeup, she chose a light, dewy look with champagne-colored eyeshadow and fluttery eyelashes.

She completed her look with radiant coral blush and latte-colored lip gloss.

Gomez joined Swift and her friends for dinner while Swift’s NFL star boyfriend, Travis Kelce, was overseas with his Kansas City Chiefs team.

The longtime besties were accompanied by Sophie Turner, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne, and Brittany Mahomes during their outing.

Earlier this week, Selena addressed social media users criticizing her for her silence on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

In a now-deleted post, she stated that a single post would not “change the world.”

Due to fan comments, she announced she would be “taking a break” from the platform.

In response to the backlash, she wrote: “I’m taking a break and deleting my Instagram. I’m done. I do not support any of what’s going on.”

Instead, she disabled comments on her posts and hasn’t shared anything on her Instagram Story since.

Her latest post came after she announced her “break” from Instagram.

She expressed that her “heart breaks to see all the horror, hate, violence, and terror in the world,” but argued that a social media post wouldn’t “change” anything.

“People being tortured and killed or any act of hate towards anyone is horrific,” she stated.

With her friends, as they left a restaurant, Swift had her arm around Gomez while also holding Mahomes’ hand.

“We need to protect ALL people, especially children, and stop the violence for good,” she continued. “I’m sorry if my words won’t be enough for everyone or a hashtag.”

“I just can’t stand by while innocent people get hurt. That’s what makes me sick. I wish I could change the world. But a post won’t.”

This comes after Selena shared a video promoting the Rare Impact Fund for World Mental Health Day earlier this month. Fans criticized her silence in the comments.

After disabling comments on recent posts, some of her 430 million followers went back to her October 4 video, urging her to speak out about the conflict due to her role as a UNICEF Ambassador.
