Selena Gomez came out in a casual attire to get lunch in New York City

Selena Gomez enjoyed a casual lunch in New York City on Sunday, stepping out in a chic ensemble. She was joined by fellow Disney Channel alum Sofia Carson, who wore a white shirt, black leggings, and stylish black and silver high heels.

Gomez, known for her role in Wizards of Waverly Place, sported a black Louis Vuitton purse with the strap crossing her body. She completed her look with matching white shoes and dark sunglasses, tying her hair back in a loose bun that was combed to the left. She kept her jewelry minimal for a relaxed vibe.

Sofia Carson, also 29, complemented Gomez’s look with her own pair of sunglasses and a middle-parted hairstyle tied back. Gomez’s lunch outing followed her debut as the host of Saturday Night Live that weekend, where she shared the stage with 76-year-old Steve Martin, a frequent SNL host.

During her SNL appearance, Gomez participated in a sketch featuring Martin as a gag inventor of the Whoopee Cushion and other famous practical joke devices. The duo, who star together in the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building, had a playful rapport. Gomez humorously referenced her initial unfamiliarity with Martin and her other co-star, Martin Short, saying, “I was so honored to work with Steve Martin and Martin Short, especially after I googled them to find out who they were.”

For her SNL segment, Gomez showcased her toned legs in a short black dress paired with black high heels. She played the host, Taylor Gosh, in a sketch titled American Inventors, introducing Martin’s character, Archie Gizmo, who humorously recounted his struggles as a gag inventor.

In the sketch, Gizmo shared that despite his challenges in the early 60s, he found inspiration in his wife, Ms. Dina Beans, played by Aidy Bryant. He detailed how her magnetic energy and unfortunate luck inspired many of his inventions, including the infamous Whoopee Cushion. The segment humorously highlighted Dina’s unfortunate mishaps, including encounters with poisonous snakes and lightning strikes, showcasing the comedic charm of the skit.

Gizmo concluded his story by stating that while he became wealthy through his inventions, the true prize was marrying Dina, emphasizing their humorous and loving relationship.
