‘Keep Chester in your hearts’: Linkin Park members along with late lead singer’s widow to perform emotional tribute at Hollywood Bowl in front of 17,000 people

The members of Linkin Park performed a tribute show in Los Angeles in honor of their late lead singer, Chester Bennington.

More than 17,000 people attended the Hollywood Bowl on Friday night in remembrance of Bennington, who committed suicide in July, according to Rolling Stone.

The band’s rapper, Mike Shinoda, informed the audience, “I don’t have the words.” “I don’t believe any of us have.”

During their three-hour show, Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, Brad Delson, Dave Farrell, and Joe Hahn performed hits like “Numb” and “In the End.”

Members of the bands No Doubt, Yellowcard, Sum 41, System of a Down, Avenged Sevenfold, Bush and Korn, and Alanis Morissette were among the special guests, along with Blink-182 and Julia Michaels.

Heartfelt videos were submitted to the presentation by Paul McCartney, Metallica, and Jared Leto.

Bennington ‘would have loved this,’ according to Variety, when his widow, Talinda, took the stage to speak to the audience.

“F*** depression” and “Make Chester proud” were the hashtags she used to end her address.

This opinion was also expressed by Shinoda, who served as the evening’s MC. “Remember Chester and make him proud,” he said.

The week of the event, it was revealed that Bennington had bequeathed all of his material belongings to his wife and all six of his children.

The musician designated his three children from his previous marriage, his wife Talinda, and their three children as beneficiaries in his will.

Certain accounts, including retirement, will go straight to his widow, according the documentation TMZ was able to secure.

The Chester and Talinda Bennington Family Trust, established in 2007, receives the remainder of his assets.

As the will’s executor, Talinda is in charge of all of Chester’s musical rights and interests.

On July 20, the 41-year-old took his own life. On the Palos Verdes peninsula, he was discovered dead in his house.

According to law authorities, he was home alone when he hanged himself from a door in his bedroom, just like his pal Chris Cornell did, according to TMZ. His housekeeper discovered him upstairs.

Friends claimed that although they never anticipated he would commit suicide, Bennington was “never the same” following the passing of his close buddy Chris Cornell after word of his shocking death spread.

His birthday fell on the same day as his alleged suicide. In May, the rocker from Soundgarden hanged himself.

After the release of the band’s most recent album, “One More Light,” Linkin Park was on tour. The following week, they were supposed to perform with Blink 182 at Citi Field in New York. Birmingham, England, hosted the band’s final performance on July 7.

For twelve years, Bennington was wed to his second wife, Talinda, who had previously been a Playboy model. After nine years of marriage, he separated from his first wife, Samantha Marie Olit, in 2005.

In an interview conducted in 2011, the frontman said that he had previously been a “full blown, raging alcoholic” and had been candid about his background of substance addiction.

Julia Michaels, of 'Issues' fame, was a special guest performer. Other guests included Blink-182, Alanis Morissette, and members of the bands Yellowcard, Sum 41, System of a Down, Avenged Sevenfold, Bush and Korn

Fronted by Bennington and Shinoda, the Grammy Award-winning trio sold 10 million copies of their 2000 breakthrough single, “Hybrid Theory,” and an additional 4 million copies of their 2003 multiplatinum single, “Meteora.” Feelings of anger and rage were explored in both albums.

In 2004, they worked with JAY-Z on the well-known song Collision Course.

‘Crawling’ got them the Grammy for best hard rock performance in 2001, and ‘Numb/Encore’ won them the Grammy for best rap/sung combo in 2005.

As a side project in 2005, Bennington started his own band, Dead by Sunrise. From 2013 to 2015, he also served as Stone Temple Pilots’ lead vocalist.

In 2010, he told The Associated Press that it is very impossible to please the band’s diverse fan base due to the sound they are known for.

We are creating music that we enjoy for ourselves. “We don’t create music for other people,” he declared.

That would be really absurd, so we’re not thinking, “Let’s make a pie-graph of all our fans and find out how many people fit in whatever category and then make the perfect album for them.”
