During a livestream event yesterday, September 5, the iconic rock band Linkin Park surprised their fans by announcing that they will be making a spectacular comeback! The band’s latest album, “From Zero,” will be their first since “One More Light,” which was released in 2017 and featured the late Chester Bennington.

Furthermore, Linkin Park is coming back with more than simply a globe tour and new music. Additionally, they’re adding a new voice to the mix! The band will have a fresh dynamic with the addition of singer Emily Armstrong as their new female vocalist. The following five facts regarding Linkin Park’s new co-vocalist are important to know:

1. She’s A Former Member Of Deаd Sara

Emily had established herself as a seasoned vocalist before joining the Linkin Park family. She was the vocalist and co-founder of Dead Sara, a three-piece band that also included Siouxsie Medley and Sean Friday. When Emily and Siouxsie started writing music together in 2002, at the ages of 16 and 15, the band’s adventure officially began.

In April 2012, Dead Sara made their official debut with their self-titled album. The band’s lineup finally settled in 2009 with Chris Null on bass and Sean Friday on drums, following several lineup changes. Chris regrettably quit the group in 2015, not long after their album “Pleasure to Meet You” was released.

2. She Was Featured In Demi Lovato’s “Help Me”

Emily and her bandmates wrote two of the songs for Demi Lovato’s 2022 album “Holy Fᴠck” as credited writers. In addition to co-writing the songs, she also contributed a special cameo on the song “Help Me” and even joined Demi live on stage, demonstrating her abilities outside of her band.

3. She Started Playing The Guitar At The Age Of 12

Given her extensive expertise and talent, it is not surprising that this female vocalist was chosen to be Linkin Park’s next lead. Emily began playing the guitar when she was about twelve years old.

4. She Used To Be A Folk Singer

Emily was a folk singer before to Dead Sara, and she was particularly interested in songs from the late 1960s and early 1970s that told stories. She felt a strong connection to the sentiments and emotions of that time period, which she thinks was the final important time for such unadulterated expression. The singer explains that although she is frequently compared to Janis Joplin, the goal is to capture the deep feelings that are expressed via that era’s music rather than trying to emulate Janis.

5. She Used To Date Kate Harrison

Throughout her career, Emily has been vocal about her experiences as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and has publicly identified as gay. She was romantically involved with Instagram celebrity and model Kate Harrison in 2016. Although they had a quite private relationship, there has been no official confirmation or public information about their breakup.

I’m excited to watch Emily shine with Linkin Park in the future!
